STAGE IS THE WORLD

Inose Gakuen
The stage is set in the world.

As times have changed, the school has also grown steadily, step by step.
In the future, we would like to place particular emphasis on Japanese and English language education and education of the mind. The importance of Japanese and English language education has been recognized for some time, but in recent years it has become increasingly important. Another area we would like to focus on is "education of the mind. There is no doubt that academics, including English education, are important for children's future, but I believe that proper character building for children is even more important.
What we want our children to remember above all else is to be honest, obedient, humble, save their parents, and be considerate of those around them. The entire faculty and staff will continue to work hard to meet the expectations of parents and society.

What is the Sunnyside Program? / / Sunnyside Program

Inose Gakuen opened its first kindergarten in 2006. This is a team-based kindergarten education system with Japanese and non-Japanese teachers, which was launched in 2001 as a model project for promoting educational reform in kindergartens in Gifu City and has been highly evaluated for its educational results. Unlike "international schools," which are staffed exclusively by foreigners and provide English-only childcare, Inose Gakuen provides education based on the Japanese "Guidelines for Kindergarten Education" designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Point
1

We want to nurture true "international people.

We often hear the phrase "the age of internationalization," but what does it mean to be a "cosmopolitan"? When we think about it, we do not think that "being able to speak English does not equal being a cosmopolitan. We believe that an attractive person in an international society is a member of society who knows his/her own culture and is able to communicate with others based on the beauty of his/her own national character. At Sunnyside, we always emphasize that the purpose of education is not to "learn to speak English," but to provide a well-balanced and appropriate environment for the upbringing of young children.

Point
2

Cherish your upbringing as a Japanese

Sunnyside's greatest feature is that the foundation of its education is based on Japanese preschool education. We want children to learn and experience many things during their kindergarten life, such as basic lifestyle habits, kindness and consideration for others, the ability to get along with friends, and the desire to actively participate in any kind of play, as well as traditional events such as Japanese folktales, nursery rhymes, and omochitsuki (rice cake pounding). There are many things we want children to learn and experience during their kindergarten life. We believe that in order to nurture true global citizens, it is very important for children to grow up as Japanese and experience Japanese culture, so we incorporate as many of these experiences as possible into the daycare program, and our foreign teachers also participate in these experiences. For more details, please refer to our annual events.

Point
3

English that comes naturally in daily life

Starting with greetings, "Go get your bag out of the locker! Sunnyside children do not have the process of "translating the meaning in their mind" as adults do, because they always learn English through their ears according to the movements and things necessary in daily life. We do not need to show illustrations or flashcards of each scene or thing as we teach them, and they understand English in the same way that native English speaking children learn it.

Point
4

Japanese teachers are "Japanese" only.
Foreign teachers are "English" only.

The 1990s saw a revolutionary development in the field of brain science. The results of these studies showed that bilingual children are more likely to grow up with a father and mother who speak different languages. In other words, the results of these studies indicate that it is not very effective for mothers to speak to their children in a mixture of Japanese and English, for example. Based on these findings, we have decided to have Japanese teachers work only in Japanese and non-Japanese teachers work only in English.
